This policy applies to Smart Scanner, displayed in the app as SmartScan and previously named Flashlight Tool, developed by YiPinDaShuai (“we”, “us”, or “our”). The Android application ID is com.yipindashuai.flashlighttool.
The app provides document scanning, PDF tools, text recognition, translation, QR and barcode tools, a watermark camera, and lighting tools. This policy explains how information is handled when you use these features and the advertising, analytics, and crash reporting services included in the app. You do not need to create an account to use the app.
The app processes photos, selected files, scanned documents, recognized text, translations, and QR or barcode content to provide the features you choose. Saved documents, QR history, drafts, logos, and preferences are stored in app storage on your device. PDF creation, merging, and page editing are performed on your device.
The app does not provide a developer-operated service that uploads or synchronizes this content to our servers. When you export, share, copy, or open content with another app or provider, the destination you choose receives that content under its own privacy practices. For example, opening a scanned website address sends a request through your browser, and exporting to a cloud document provider may upload the exported file.
The app uses Google ML Kit for document scanning, text recognition, barcode scanning, and translation. These APIs process their input and output on your device. According to Google ML Kit’s privacy terms, this input and output are not sent to Google servers by ML Kit.
ML Kit may connect to Google to obtain models, updates, or compatibility information, and it sends API usage and performance metrics to Google. An internet connection may therefore be required to prepare a feature or download a language model, even though recognition and translation run on your device.
You can deny or revoke permissions in Android’s app settings. Features requiring a denied permission may be unavailable, while unrelated features remain usable. The app does not request background location access.
The app uses Google AdMob to display advertisements, including optional rewarded ads. Google and its advertising partners may process information such as IP address and approximate location derived from it, advertising or app identifiers, ad interactions, and diagnostic information. This information supports ad delivery, measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention. See Google Mobile Ads data disclosures and the Google Privacy Policy.
Where applicable, Google User Messaging Platform presents advertising privacy choices. When available, you can revisit these choices through App Settings → Ad privacy options. Android also provides advertising ID controls. Available choices and advertising behavior depend on your region, device settings, and consent status.
An ad-free reward temporarily suppresses advertisements; it does not disable analytics or crash reporting.
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand feature use, task completion, errors, and ad performance. It processes app interactions and technical information, including app instance or installation identifiers and device or app information. Our custom events describe actions and operational metadata, such as a screen name, operation result, duration, or document page count. They do not include document contents, OCR or translation text, QR payloads, document names, file paths, or precise location coordinates.
We use Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose failures. Reports can include installation identifiers, device and app details, crash stack traces, and exception information. Advertising privacy options do not provide a separate opt-out switch for analytics or crash reporting in this version of the app.
Google handles service data under its published privacy terms. See Firebase Privacy and Security for processing, retention, and storage information. These services may process data in countries other than your own.
Saved app content remains on your device until you delete it or remove the relevant app data. You can delete saved documents and QR history from My Content. Android’s Clear storage function or uninstalling the app removes local app data, but does not remove copies you previously exported or shared.
Android backup or device transfer may include app data, depending on your device and backup settings. Restoring a backup may restore previously saved app data. Manage backups through your device or backup provider, and delete exported or shared copies separately at their destinations.
Analytics and other service data are retained under the relevant service’s retention rules and configured project settings. Firebase currently states that Crashlytics retains crash traces and associated identifiers for 90 days before starting deletion from live and backup systems. Removing local app data does not automatically erase information already held by third-party services.

Local documents are not accessible to us through a developer-operated cloud account. Please do not send document contents or other sensitive information unless needed for your request. If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send so we can respond.
We use Android’s app storage and permission controls to limit access to app data. AdMob and Firebase document protections for transmitting data to their services. No storage or transmission method guarantees absolute security. Protect your device and review the information contained in files before sharing them.
The app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us.
We may update this policy when app features or data practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. You can access the current policy through App Settings → Privacy policy.
